My earliest memories are of Bruce, "Mr. Haskell" at Shorecrest. In the very earliest years I was there in the late '60's he would actually fill in as my bus driver. He taught, counseled, and also disciplined me a number of times, but always with empathy and a sincere desire to see me succeed. When I returned to St. Pete after military service, I was able to speak at length with him during some Shorecrest golf tournaments when I was more of an adult and peer. However, I could never quite accept him as something other than a respected authority in my life. He touched many hundreds of lives in that way I suspect.
