Scott was invaluable to my growth as a tech employee. We became fast friends when we worked together and kept talking even after we both parted ways with the company. I'll never forget everything he taught me, nor the encouragement he provided along the way. He was the kindest, most compassionate, and most accepting coworker I ever had. I feel so lucky to have had him in my life.
To provide a story to explain just how amazing he was....my fiance, who we both worked with at the job we met at, left me on our fifth anniversary. The very second I told Scott this, he told me to meet him at Dunderbaks. We both had an interest in German and German food, so he took me to dinner to take my mind off everything. He didn't know it then, but that helped save my life when I was in a very dark place.
Thank you so much, Scott. When I think of mentors and of people who helped convince me that I was smart enough, good enough, and that I had what it takes to make it in tech...I will always think of you. You were a friend to me as well as a coworker and I will miss you.
Also...best interview question ever? Scott, asking me my favorite superhero then smiling as I ranted about Marvel. Rest in Valhalla, you incredible Viking.

My first memory of Scott and one that endeared him to me from the start is when he was 4 and I was 18, his family was visiting ours in Minnesota and I took him to see Who Framed Roger Rabbit. He sat next to me in front passenger seat of the car singing Don’t Worry, Be Happy to himself over and over. You could tell he was an exceptionally smart human from the time he was a toddler. We reconnected after many years on social media and texted and spoke often these past few years developing a real friendship. I’m grateful for that and will remember him always and will take comfort in the love and friendship and the little message in that song that I believe his spirit is sending to me.
Love you bud, Auntie Kathy.

Though I never had the pleasure of meeting him in person, he was still an important figure in my life. Several times he offered help on my worst days, and never expected anything back. He was a candle that burned bright to the very end and will always serve as an inspiration to all of us, reminding us to never lose our ways.
"If there is nothing but we make in this world, brothers...let us make good."
'Til Valhalla, brother. Save a seat for us, we'll finally have that beer together.

Scott was my chosen brother for almost 20 years, we shared everything together through thick and thin. The man was God father to my son and was one of the most kind and wonderful people I'll ever have the pleasure of meeting in life. Rest in peace brother, you made everyone's life you touched better than you could have possibly imagined.

This man saved my life. His random message to me one night stopped me from doing something terrible. For that I have so much to thank him for. I have sorrow in my heart for his passing but I know personally this man made the people around him better then before they knew him.

Scott, you were and are a great friend of mine. Always there when I needed someone to talk to, or needed help with tech questions. Reliable in every way I could imagine, and a heartfelt laugh. The world is quieter without you in it, and you will be deeply missed by people literally around the world. We'll love you forever.
