Obituary of Kathleen Ann Hopson

Kathleen (“Kathie”) Hopson, age 77, entered the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 9, 2023, after a short illness. She was born in February of 1946 to Raymond and Eileen Glatthorn, the third of eight children. In 1967, she married John A. (“Jack”) Hopson, who preceded her in death, after 47 years of marriage. Also preceding her in death are her parents and her brothers, Raymond and Jimmy.

Kathleen is survived by her son, Jonathan, of Clearwater and her daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Michael Lunceford of Elon, NC; her three grandchildren (“her grands” as she called them) David, Jonathan and Sarah Lunceford; her sisters, Eileen “Pat” Helfer (Fred), Mary Nyce, and Susan Johnson (David); her brothers, David and Paul Glatthorn; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and other family members and friends who have provided wonderful support throughout her illness.

Visitation is Wednesday, July 12th from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at Jonathan’s home. A service to celebrate her life will take place at a later time.
