Obituary of Samuel Gerald Hendricks

Hendricks, Samuel Gerald ?Jerry,? 84, of St. Petersburg, died Monday Feb. 21, 2000 at home after a long illness. He came here in 1947 from his native Knoxville TN. He received a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star while serving in the Army Pacific Theater during WWII. He was an educator with the Pinellas County School System. He taught math at St. Petersburg High School from 1947 until 1960, and was a teacher and Assistant Principal at Boca Ciega High School from 1960 until 1975. He was a member of Woodlawn Presbyterian Church and the University of Tennessee Alumni Association. Survivors include two sons: Joel, St. Petersburg; and Gerald B., Temecula, CA; one brother, Hugh Hendricks, Crossville, TN; one sister, Lynette Hendricks, Crossville, TN; one grandson, Dylan Hendricks, Temecula, CA; one granddaughter, Devin Hendricks, Temecula, CA; several nieces and nephews.
