Obituary of Lucille Katherine Burke

Burke, Lucille Katherine, 97, of St. Petersburg, died Friday April 14, 2000 of old age at Crest Mark at Huber Gardens Nursing Home. She was born in Delta, Colorado, and was a graduate of USC. In 1926, she went to Eastern Cuba to teach the English speaking children of sugar industry employees. In 1946, she moved to the Guantanamo Naval Base and taught school there until 1958. She retired in 1969 and moved to St. Petersburg in 1976. She was a member of Lutheran Church of the Cross and is survived by one daughter, Barbara Montanari, St. Petersburg; one son, Pat Burke, Palm Beach, FL; nine grandchildren; and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
