Obituary of Dorothy Shaffer Barker

Barker, Dorothy Shaffer, 82, of St. Petersburg, died Thursday July 6, 2000 at Largo Medical Center in Largo. Born September 28, 1917, in Charleston, WV. Moved with her family to St. Petersburg in 1954. She worked as a teacher assistant and as a teacher in the Head Start program until her retirement in 1980. She was a founding member of St. Mark?s United Methodist Church, St. Petersburg, and served as the Sunday school secretary for several years. She is survived by two daughters; Sally Barker of Seminole, and Linda Westbrook, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and by 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
