Obituary of Ricky Rick'' A. Friar

Friar, Rick, 52, of St. Petersburg, died Thursday July 13, 2000 at Bayfront Medical Center of a stroke. He came here in 1990 from his native Greenville, SC, where he had worked as a Law Enforcement Officer. He was a Vietnam veteran having served in the U.S.Air Force. He was owner, operator, and instructor of Skyway Divers in St. Petersburg. He was a Mason and a Shriner and an active supporter of the SPCA. He was actively involved with ?Friends of Bill? for the past sixteen years. Survivors include his wife of fifteen years, Nancy N.; one son, Ricky A., Jr., Greenville, SC; two daughters: Sarah Held, Tallahassee, FL; and Riquette Friar, SC; Father, Avery Friar, Greenville, SC; and two grandchildren. Friends may call Sunday from 2:00PM until Service time at 4:00PM at Anderson-McQueen Funeral Homes & Cremation Tribute Center-Ninth Street Chapel, 2201-9th Street North. Interment will be at Greenville Memorial Gardens in Greenville, SC. Those who wish may make contributions to the SPCA of Pinellas County, 9099-130th Avenue North, Largo, FL 33773-1441.
