Obituary of Frank Frankie'' Robert Valentine

Valentine, Sergeant Frank Robert ?Frankie?, 84, of Seminole, died Sunday, September 3, 2000 at Wright?s Nursing Home of Parkinson?s Disease. Born in New York City, NY, he moved to Seminole in 1990 from Sanford, NC. He retired from the 82nd Airborne Division after 30 years where he was a paratrooper. He worked for 16 years with the Army Corp. of Engineers in Wilmington, NC where he was a deck hand. He served in the Army during Pearl Harbor, the Korean War, and in Vietnam, where he was sent twice. He was awarded a Purple Heart Medal. Frankie was a member of the VFW Post #10400 in North Carolina and a member of the DAV and the American Legion. He was Protestant. Survivors include one daughter: Ruby Atkins of Seminole, FL; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Anderson-McQueen Funeral Homes and Cremation Tribute Center- Ninth Street Chapel.
