Obituary of Raymond Harold Glatthorn

Glatthorn, Raymond Harold, ?Ray?, 79, of St. Petersburg, died Friday, August 11, 2000 at his home. He was born in Philadelphia, PA and came here in 1968 from Wallingford, PA. He was an Engineer at Westinghouse Electric Company for 42 years, retiring in Tampa in 1981. He was a devout Christian, and his life was a testimony of his deepest beliefs. After retiring from Westinghouse, he was a volunteer missionary to Haiti. Locally, he was a member of Central Bible Church. He attended Drexel University in Philadelphia where he studied metallurgy and welding and he held many technical patents and advancements in welding technology. Survivors include his wife of 58 years Eileen R.; 4 sons, Paul of Belleair Bluffs, Raymond of Valparaiso, IN, James of Pinellas Park, David of North Palm Beach; 4 daughters, Eileen Helfer of Bradenton, Kathleen Hopson of Exton, PA, Mary Elizabeth Nyce of Norristown, PA, Susan Johnson of Clearwater; 1 brother, Jack of Glenolden, PA; 3 sisters, Lorraine Dollar of Collingdale, PA; Joan Lasensky of La Jolla, CA; Mary McLaughlin of Sharon Hill, PA; 12 Grandchildren; and 2 Great-Grandchildren.
