Obituary of Richard D. Sneed

Sneed, Sr., Richard D., 83, of St. Petersburg died Friday Nov. 10, 2000 at St. Anthony?s Hospital. Born in Parkin, Arkansas, he came to St. Petersburg in 1957 from Lakeland, FL. He was a 1940 graduate of Loyola University in New Orleans. He served in the US Navy Reserve for 11 years obtaining the rank of Lt. Commander. He was a naval aviator and Patrol Plane Commander in the South Pacific in 1944 during WWII. He was a real estate salesman/broker having retired from Cyrus Realty in 1990. He was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church and the American Legion Post #14 ? St. Petersburg. Survivors include his wife of 58 years: Dorothy; a daughter: Nancy Stitt ? St. Petersburg; a son: Richard D. Sneed, Jr. ? Vero Beach, FL; two 2 granddaughters: Laurie Sneed and Kellie Sneed ? both of Vero Beach; and two 2 grandsons: Taylor Stitt and Carson Stitt ? both of St. Petersburg.
