Obituary of Dolores Apke Dee'' Riggins

Riggins, Dolores Apke ''Dee'', 70, of St. Petersburg, died Sunday December 3, 2000 at home under the care of hospice. Born in Effingham, Illinois, she came here in 1974 from Memphis, Tennessee. She was a homemaker after retiring from working in Emergency Room Admissions at Sun Bay Hospital now Vencor Hospital for 15 years. She attended Blessed Trinity Catholic Church in St. Petersburg and was graduated in 1946 as the youngest graduate and Valedictorian at Rantoul High School in Illinois. She was a member of the Daughters of American Revolution, a champion duplicate bridge player, and a longtime member of both Lakewood Country Club and the Inner Civic Bowling Association. She was also a member of the Friday Lunch Club in St. Petersburg. Survivors include six children, Cheryl Ann Smallwood of Oslo, Norway, Vicki Diane Smith and Deborah Susan ?Debbie? Riggins both of St. Petersburg, Richard Michael ?Mike? Riggins of Clearwater, Jeffrey David ?Jeff? Riggins of Bradenton and Patrick Jon ?Pat? Riggins of Kingsport, Tennessee; 13 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Victor Apke of St. Joe, Illinois and Joseph ?Spud? Apke of Chicago, Illinois; 2 sisters, Cathy Delaney of Fischer, Illinois and Elaine Pilgrim of Bellevue, Nebraska; and 18 nieces and nephews.
