Obituary of Grace Thomas

Thomas, Grace, 84, of St. Petersburg, died Wednesday December 27, 2000 at Shore Acres Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, she came here in 1953 from St. Paul, Minnesota. She was a member of St. Peter?s Episcopal Cathedral. She was a sister in the Episcopal Church Army for over 60 years; a member of Cursillo; and active in the Clergy Spouse Association of the Diocese of Southwest Florida. She sang in numerous choirs and directed many Vacation Bible Schools. She also made bead necklaces out of used church bulletin covers. She had many friends worldwide from England to Japan, plus those in this Country. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, the Rev. John W. Thomas; a daughter, Nancy Beck of St. Petersburg; 3 sons, John C. Thomas of Jacksonville, Bruce E. Thomas of San Francisco, California and Kevin D. Thomas of Marco Island, Florida; a brother, Glenn Christopher of Minneapolis, Minnesota; a sister, Maxine King of Minneapolis, Minnesota; 7 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.
