Obituary of Allen Adkins
Alan Adkins, 78, of St. Petersburg, died Friday (March 16, 2001) at Hospice House Woodside, Pinellas Park. He came here 12 years ago from his native Norwalk, Conn. He was a retired technical writer who worked on the development of the Blackhawk helicopter. He also did work for Walsh Construction in Norwalk. He was a member of Church by the Sea, where he also was a choir member.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille C.; a son, Dr. James, Palm Harbor; two daughters, Lynn Weigel, Norwalk, and Lauren Chester, Arlington, Va.; a stepdaughter, Diane Pomponi, St. Petersburg,; a stepson, Martin Stanton, Bradford, N.H.; a sister, Doris Gerstner, Hypoluxo; a brother, Roger Merrell, St. Petersburg; and 8 grandchildren.
