I only met Richard a few times as I was a patient of his, but he truly touched me as he was so concerned with my health issues and you know in your heart when someone really is concerned for you well being. If he was closer to me I would have seen him only. God has blessed this earth with a man who really had knack for compassion and you knew he was really and truly concerned for you, what a tragedy he was taken from this earth too soon. God keep him your loving arms.

I am saddened by the news I just received - that this world just lost one of the "good" ones. I am a past patient of Richard's. I mean no disrespect by the familiarity, but that is more indicative of how he took his job seriously, not himself. That was how he introduced himself when he shook your hand and looked you in the eyes. His sincere, caring, easy-going manner was such a needed breath of fresh air in an otherwise seemingly uncaring field of medicine â€" health care for the working poor or those with no insurance and nowhere else to go. His respect for others was always so appreciated. To his family I send my most heartfelt condolences. Please know he made such a positive difference in so many lives. Though you may not hear of the vast specific number, I guarantee it was - is - infinite.

I worked with Richard for quite a few years, well what can I say that people don't already know he was a great co worker friend parent and over all one of the best human beings in this world. I knew i could count on him for anything as a friend and as a physician he took great care of my kids and my self when we were ill, "call me Dick"he would say , and the greastest topic of conversation was always and forever Alex I hope she never forgets how much she meant to him and how much he cherished every second he spent with her!To his family I'm very sorry for your loss I imagine how painful it is , I'm still in denial myself and it hurts to think your gone but you will forever be LOVED AND NEVER BE FORGOTTEN! I know you will continue to guard your little Alex from up above!:....( Love you and miss you dearly!

I worked with Richard for a few years and in the little time of knowing him it was easy to find out what an incredible man he was. He was always Soooo kind and generous. He would literally give you the shirt off his back-I know cliche but the exact kind of man he was. The patients and staff absolutely loved him. One thing I do know is he daughter Alexandra was the absolute love of his life. He always had such a bright smile when talking about her and every night we worked together around 7-730 pm he would always call her to say goodnight. She was the light of his life. He will be dearly missed by all the knew him.

I knew Richard for many years; we had a great deal in common and enjoyed each other’s company very much. We were both veterans who graduated from the same school (he was 2yrs ahead of me) and ended-up working together at Manatee County Rural Health Services. I will certainly miss his intelligence, dry sense of humor and gentle caring nature; it was always nice to receive a phone call "out-of the blue" from Dick in the middle of a chaotic day. Rest easy my friend; enjoy your just reward for a life well-lived...

I only met Dr. Richard once, but he was so encouraging and careful in his treatment. It hurt my heart to know that the family is hurting right now. I pray peace and continued happy memories in your time of healing. God bless!

When I started working at Rural Health a year ago, Richard was my 'guru', teaching me the 'ropes'. Tho much senior to him in experience, this set up was totally new to me. I will be eternally grateful to him. I also know how his daughter was the apple of his eye. May she always remember the love he had for her. And may the family find comfort and peace, I just wanted to share your grief.
