Obituary of Duane J. Griffin

Duane J. Griffin, (USAF, Ret.), 80, of St. Petersburg, Florida, died Thursday, June 17, 2010. Mr. Griffin moved to St. Petersburg in 1969 from his native Buffalo, New York. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean and Viet Nam Wars retiring as a Master Sergeant after 21 years of service. He then was a lineman and repairman at General Telephone Company. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in St. Petersburg. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Vera S. Griffin; two brothers, Raymond of New Port Richey, Florida, Gerald of El Paso, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Blanche Griffin, a sister, Patricia Smithmeyer, and a brother, Ronald.
