Obituary of Earl W. Patterson

Earl W. Patterson, PhD., 57, of St. Petersburg, Florida died Friday, August 30, 2002 at the V.A. Medical Center at Bay Pines. He was a native of St. Petersburg and was a 1963 graduate of St. Petersburg High School and a graduate of the University of Florida with a PhD in Psychology. He was a former Associate Professor of Behavioral Sciences, at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, and a former Director of the Alcohol and Drug Education Program at Tulane University, as well as Adjunct Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Neurology at Tulane. He returned to St. Petersburg three months ago. He was a U.S. Marine Corps. veteran. He was an avid sailor, and built many boats himself, including a 45 foot sailboat from scratch. He was a USCG Licensed Captain, and a member of the Sarasota Sailing Squadron. He is survived by one son, Randall of Sarasota, Florida, three daughters, Kimberly of St. Petersburg, Abigail and Robyn both of Sarasota, five brothers, Alton, of Pinellas Park, Florida, Jesse, Raymond, Fred, and Julian all of St. Petersburg, three sisters, Edith Teeple of Kernersville, NC, Linda Patterson-Ryan of Spotsylvania, VA and Deborah Patterson of Westville, IN. $(document).ready(function(){ });
