Obituary of Roger Wurr

Roger Wurr, 71, of St. Petersburg, FL and Kiel, Germany, died on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 of injuries sustained in a hit-and-run accident on January 25th. Roger now has joined his loving partner Gloria Mastell who pre-deceased him in the same tragic incident. He is survived by daughters Cari-Vanessa Wurr and Alexandra Meyer, who flew from their native Germany to be at his bedside, as well as his third daughter Vija Vijana Wurr and 1 brother, Dieter Eilers who both also reside in Germany. Roger recently retired as a Professor of Sociology at University Kiel and he continued to teach seminars as an expert in many cultures including the gypsy culture. He wrote many books of Sociology and two crime stories. He was a true world traveler, having visited many of the nations in the civilized world as well as countless natural and cultural wonders in the United States. Roger read avidly and enjoyed music endlessly, having been a drummer in his earlier years. He was an avid admirer of many forms of art.
