Obituary of Rosina B Phillips

Phillips, Rosina B. "Phyllis", 97, of St. Petersburg, died Sunday (March 11, 2018) at home surrounded by loved ones. Born in New Kensington, Pa. in 1920, the last of six children. After the sudden death of her father, Domenico Bello, in 1930, the family moved to Patterson, New Jersey. She attended Central High School where she was Valedictorian of the Class of 1938. At her graduation, she delivered an address on "Enthusiasm". She moved to St. Petersburg in 1943 and met her husband, John Phillips who was stationed at MacDill Air Force Base. They wed in 1945. She served as an executive secretary for Florida Power and Light until her retirement in 1975. She attended Saint Raphael Catholic Church and along with her sisters, Frances and Maria Bello, served as charter members. Phyllis enjoyed traveling, working in her yard and doing crossword puzzles. She was blessed by many caregivers in the last years of her life and will be missed. A Funeral Mass in Honor of her will be held, at 10AM Friday March 16, 2018, at the St Raphael's Catholic Church, 1376 Snell Isle Blvd NE, St Petersburg, FL. Entombment to follow services at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Clearwater Florida.
