Obituary of Barbara Ellen Jenkins

Barbara Ellen Jenkins , 87, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 28. Our beloved mother was born and raised in Park Ridge, IL and received her BS from Hanover College, IN, as a member of the AOP sorority. Barbara and her husband, Harold, were married for 53 years when he preceded her in death. Barbara was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and showed her love with her cooking, sewing, knitting and devotion to her family. Barbara enjoyed traveling with Harold and later every year on her birthday, with her daughter, Kim and grand-daughter, Michelle. Barbara's Christian faith was the foundation of her life and she was a longtime member of Grace Bible Church. We are comforted to know she is at peace with her Lord and Savior. She is survived by her children David Jenkins, Mark Jenkins (Renee), Dale Jenkins (Pam) and Kim Ternstrom (Mike), grandchildren Corrine Nolan (Kyle), Michelle Haines (Steve), Mark Ternstrom (Rachel), Jennifer, Jacob, Reid, Julianna and David Jenkins, great grandchildren Tori and Tyler Nolan, and Alaina and Eric Haines, her brother, Don Johnson (Marilyn) and many loving friends. We will forever be grateful for the blessing she was to our lives and the kindness and selflessness she extended to all during her life. Join us in remembering Barbara on Tuesday, April 3. Visitation is at 2 p.m., service at 3 p.m., with refreshments to follow at Anderson-McQueen Funeral Home, 2201 Dr. Martin Luther King Street N, Saint Petersburg.
