Obituary of Robert Lee Wilson

Robert L. Wilson Jr., 79 of St. Petersburg passed away Sunday, April 1st, at home. He was born on June 6th, 1938, in Peoria, IL. He graduated from William Boone High School in Orlando, FL, in 1956. Shortly after, he joined the U. S. Navy, where he served active duty for 2 years on board the U. S. S. R. K Huntington DD781. Later, he received a B. A. degree in Finance from the University of South Florida and was an accountant with Raytheon for 32 years until he retired in January, 2004. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joyce F. Wilson; two sons, Timothy R. Wilson and Rodney L. Wilson, both of St. Petersburg; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Rick Wilson of Bellingham, WA, David Wilson of Elk River, MN; two sisters, Betty Dikeman of Montrose, CO, and Jeannine Bodette of South Burlington, VT; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, April 5, 2018, at Anderson McQueen Funeral Home 2201 Dr. M.L. King Street North, St. Petersburg with services at 11:30 a.m. Friday, April 6, 2018 with Mr. Tim Rhine officiating. Entombment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
