Obituary of Robert John Furtek

Furtek, Robert "Bob" John, 69 of St. Petersburg passed away Friday, July 6, 2018.  He was born in Brawley, California and was a long-time resident of Springfield, VA.  He moved to Florida in September 2004 and St. Petersburg in 2012.  He was a civil engineer, in the United States Navy working on US Navy ships and Combat Systems throughout his 30+ year career. 

He is survived by his sons, Joseph Furtek and wife Katherine of Manassas, Virginia; and Matthew Furtek and wife Grace of Camarillo, California; grandson, Joshua Furtek; granddaughter, Hadassah Furtek; sister Barbara Viksne and husband George of Fort Pierce, Florida; and sister Lynn Eubanks and husband Jack of Alcoa, Tennessee.  He was preceded in death by loving wife Emily Furtek. 

The family will receive friends from 4-7 pm on Thursday, July 12, at Anderson McQueen Funeral Home, 2201 Dr. MLK Street St. Petersburg, FL 33704.  A funeral Mass will take place at 10:00 a.m., Frida, July 13, at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 1376 Snell Isle Blvd. NE St. Petersburg, FL 33704. Internment will take place at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 12609 Memorial Dr. Trinity, FL 34655.
