Obituary of Ada Anne Lopuszynski

Ada Anne (Livesey) Lopuszynski, 85, of St. Petersburg, Fla., passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2019.

Anne was born on Nov. 11, 1933, in Memphis, Tenn. Her father, Lt. Col. Donald W. Livesey, was a career military officer who lived on many different bases with Anne’s mother, Hilda, and their children, which led to many travel stories which Anne enjoyed telling of faraway places like Guam and Hawaii. Anne was a U.S. Navy veteran and took great pride in also serving her country. She and her husband, Joe, moved to Hernando, Fla., 22 years ago from Rye, N.Y., where they previously lived with their family for 32 years. She worked as a library clerk in the children’s room of the Rye Free Reading Room for over 20 years and always shared her passion for reading with her children and grandchildren.

Anne proudly graduated from Roosevelt High School in Honolulu, Hawaii. She was even prouder to earn her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Michigan. In addition to reading, she loved gardening and crocheting. She had a particular fondness for dogs and owned many throughout her life, leaving behind her latest, Cinco.

Anne has a rich family heritage with roots dating back many decades to Michigan and she loved the large extended family led by her maternal grandparents, Mama II and Papa II. Her many aunts, uncles and cousins created fond memories that never left her.

In addition to her parents, Anne was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Joseph P. Lopuszynski and two brothers: Donald and Johnny. She is survived by two daughters: Marcella, of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and Mary, of Bedminster, N.J.; two sons: Michael (Samantha), of Summit, N.J.; and David of Holly Springs, N.C.; and was proud Baka to three grandchildren: Michael, Alexis, and Jack; and aunt to 30 nieces and nephews.
