Obituary of Raymond Edward Shook Jr

Raymond Edward Shook, Jr., 92, of St. Petersburg, FL passed away on April
29, 2020 at Arbor Oaks Long Term Memory Care facility. Raymond was born on
October 23, 1927 to Raymond and Margaret Shook of Muncy, PA. After
graduating from high school, he went on to study mechanical engineering at
Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA graduating with a B.S. degree in 1948.
After graduation he worked in the pulp and paper industry developing and
patenting several manufacturing improvements. Raymond married his high school sweetheart, Gladys Brass, on December 23, 1948. They journeyed
through life together and moved to St. Petersburg, FL in 1972 where he owned
and operated the Hickory Farms of Ohio franchises. After selling the
franchises, he built and created the Florida Orange Groves Winery where he
worked tirelessly until his retirement in 2017.
     Raymond is survived by his wife of 71 years, Gladys B. Shook, his sister
Catharine Keene, his son Vincent R. Shook, his daughter Jane S. Rayhack, his four grandchildren.  
and (3) great-grandchildren. He was a remarkable, enterprising, and
innovative man who was loved and cherished.  He will be sorely missed.
