Obituary of Patricia Bowen Currie

Patricia Bowen Currie, 74 of Tampa, Florida passed away on July 9, 2020. She was born in Albany, Georgia on September 23, 1945 to the late Virginia Ruth (nee’ Parker) and Windol Americus Bowen.

Patricia grew up in Macon, Georgia where she graduated from McEvoy High School class of 1963. Following her graduation she attended Harper College in Illinois where she received her associates degree in nursing, with honors, in 1983. She was on the president's list, and was nursing class president. Patricia worked for many years, as an RN and nurse manager, in multiple health care settings in Georgia and Florida before retiring. In her free time, Patricia enjoyed the company of her family and friends, spending time at the beach, reading, complex cooking, fishing, scrapbooking, crafts, and animals.  

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving children, Christopher Currie (Jenn), Len Currie (Kasey), Lara Foster, Lou Parker; Jeff Currie (Ana), Matt Currie (Karen), sister, Dianne Dubose (Pete); grandchildren, Kyle Shortridge, Jeffrey S. Isaac, Sara Isaac, Ben Currie, Max Currie, Lily M. Prine, Ryan Currie, Heather Currie, Angelie Currie, Alex Currie, great grandchildren, Wyatt Shortridge, Maeve Isaac, Wylie Prine, Clementine Prine; Patricia’s dearest friend, Shirl Simeone; many extended family members and friends. Special mention to Matt Currie, Jeff Currie, and their families.

A Celebration of Life was held at 11am on August 3, 2020, at Anderson McQueen Family Tribute Center, 2201 Dr MLK Jr St N, St. Petersburg, Fl. Interment will be held at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens 7070 Houston Rd, Macon, GA 31216, at 2pm on September 26, 2020. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Patricia’s memory to St. Francis Society Animal Rescue.
