I had the chance to work with Mike at Curtis Real Estate in Washington, DC. He was very smart and just a great person to work with. I often saw his funny side and his compassionate side. I also remember that he loved his time alone out west surrounded by nature. Mike was very humble, he never brought up his NFL past with me. I never knew Mike the NFL player, I knew Mike the leader and businessman. I feel blessed to have known him, even for a small time. To this day he remains one of my most favorite business acquaintances. My prayers are with his family, even now ~2-years following his death.

The epitome of living life to the fullest each and every day. My own daughter who was a collegiate swimmer , was greatly inspired by him. She and so many inspired by him, succeeded by the example of how he took on life and sport, and that was.....Never say Never.

May God Bless and comfort your family during the times you miss Mike. I never met Mike but was a big fan of his growing up in Omaha, Neb. I have no doubt that the traits that made me a fan also played out the same with countless youth throughout the country. That is a special gift your father has and something to be proud of.

I was so very thankful to get to meet Mike at a sports show in Chantilly Va. a few years back. He was very gracious and forthcoming with storys of his playing days that I will always cherish. My deepest sympathies go out to the entire Curtis family. He will always reside in my Hall of Fame

Mike and I go back a VERY LONG way. Our parents were friends when we grew up in Rockville, Maryland during the 40's and 50's. Mike and I rode bikes, played sports together until he became so superior athletically that I moved backwards to become just a "fan". His athletic leadership at Richard Montgomery High School allowed us to become known to segments of Montgomery County that thought Rockville was closer to Hagerstown than Bethesda, Wheaton or Silver Spring.
After he received his scholarship to Duke University, his father and I would drive to the home games a few times each season to watch him perform and also to keep in touch. After graduation, he became a "Baltimore Colt". This was when I had to trade in my "Redskin" infatuation. At some point, Mike and I purchased a home together - In Rockville of course. Marriage ended that habitation. But, as you would expect, we were each other's "Best Men".
Mike is missed by many people, but as expected, will be forever remembered as perhaps Rockville's Greatest.
