My fondest memories of Pops were our visits to Alhambra Way where Pops would meet me with an unopened bottle of Absolut and and patiently wait until nighttime where he would have me pour his drink in his favorite Tampa Bay Bucs glass. We would spend the evening sharing drinks, listening to Reggae, and talking sports and life long after everyone was asleep. Pops, I will miss your kindness and warm smile.
Love
Jose

From Marjorie Cadogan
I want to pay tribute no only to Rudolph Fitzbert Gabbidon, or “Pops” as I knew him, but also to the family that surrounded him with love and care.
What is it like to gain more family than you already have? The word “family” means a lot of things to many people, and we have all heard the phrase that “you cannot choose your family”, implying that family can sometimes be burden as well as a blessing. But I say that when a tribe embraces you as one of their own, as a member of their family, it is a gift.
I have received that gift as I began a friendship some 35 years ago with Sharon Myrie. Over the course of the decades that she and I have been on our life journey together, her siblings and her parents have embraced me as one of their own.
I have been specially blessed to share the gift of the soft smile and kind spirit of Sharon’s dear Pops. There was an ease and comfort that his presence brought to any encounter that you had with him that made you relax and feel right at home. Each time that I visited with Mom and Pops in their Florida home, Pops would always have a warm welcome and listening ear to hear from and guide Sharon and I as we shared the problems, frustrations and joys of our days. When I last saw Pops at the condo, his body was weakened but the same care and patience that made you feel treasured was still ever present.
I will miss his smile, his calm and peaceful demeanor, his love of good music and of live itself.
It has been a privilege to have more family to claim as my own and to have this special “Pops”.
Rest well, Pops. Your love remains alive in all of your family.

Ken was a gentle and loving spirit. He was also a hard working individual. We grew up with Ken as if he was our older brother because our mothers were sisters. We had good times and good memories together. We love him dearly and we will truly miss him. May God be with you.
Love always,
Delores Ernandez

I met Uncle Ken when we, the Mullin family, immigrated from Jamaica: his sister-in-law Ruby Mullin and her husband Jerry, and us kid, myself Carole, Sandy, and Anthony. We grew up with our close cousins Sharon and Donovan in England and reunited with them and Auntie Dell, also known as "Moi", in New York. Aunt Dell and Uncle Ken were a "sexy" couple and were recently married. :-)
We stayed with them for a while getting to know him and reacquainting not only with Sharon and Donovan but also with Cousins Beverly and Dennis from Auntie's previous marriage.
Uncle Ken worked for a while at the School of Visual Arts where I applied but did not attend and gifted me with an art table much to my great delight. He was like that. He gave of his time, his talent, and his treasure which was a quiet and humble devotion to Jesus.
Uncle and Auntie moved to St. Petersburg and, I, when I moved here 31 years ago, had family that I was able to be with when I was alone. Uncle never wasted words, and always spoke softly and wisely. I am sure that he is in the arms of our savior and speaking as always softly and gently to his Lord.
We will greatly miss him.
Carole Mullin-Rosario
