Obituary of Raymond Robert Decker

Raymond Robert Decker, 74, went home to God and family October 19, 2020. Ray was born September 21, 1946 at his grandparents' farm in Dracut, Massachusetts.  Ray grew up in Massachusetts.  He served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam war receiving the Purple Heart.  Ray and his wife, Linda, raised their sons In Connecticut.  Ray coached many sports' teams for his sons.  Many years later, he moved to Florida and married his current wife, Midge.  Ray will always be the love of her life. Ray truly honored his Marine background by his dedicated service as Commander for many years of the American Legion Post 14 in St. Petersburg, Florida.  He also served on various committees thru out the district and state.  He will always be remembered for honoring active service and military veterans. Preceded in death by his loving mother, Jennie Stepien Decker Anderson (Andy) and his father, Raymond Decker.  His precious brother, Joseph, was also an angel by his side the last few weeks of his life.  Other family angels welcoming him into heaven were many aunts, uncles, and cousins plus nephews, Randall and Tommy and niece, Pam. Surviving family are beloved sons, Rob Decker (Nicole) with grandchildren, Christian, Michael and Broc and Ken Decker (Diane) with grandchildren, Kerry and KJ.  Jardic loved his grandchildren passionately.  Ray leaves his loving wife, Midge, and Melanie Trubey Dooley (Phillip) and Corbett Trubey (Chad Zook).  Sisters Barbara Decker Roth (Gerry) and Mary Decker Jackson also grieve for their brother.  Uncle Ray will be missed by many nieces and nephews that adored him.  Ray-Ray and Midge together had a huge extended family that brought them such joy and love.  His laughter, sparkling blue eyes and smile will be missed by many. Ray's hobby was his love of stream/river fishing which he missed dearly these past few years.  Fish on Ray, you earned it. Due to Covid, Ray's life will be celebrated at a later date.
