I was fortunate to have Fred as my friend for 20 years. Fred had a beautiful soul. He loved his family and friends and he was kind to everyone. To quote the old saying, Fred never met a stranger; and I never met anyone who didn’t like him. He had a terrific sense of humor and was a great storyteller, but he was also a good listener. He always kept his word. Fred was the most social person I have ever known, and I am sure that the isolation caused by the pandemic contributed largely to his death. I will
miss him for the rest of my life.

Fred was one of the friendliest people you'd ever want to meet. He always gave folks the benefit of believing only the best of them. He was a staunch and very stoic member of his 12 step program, and a man who knew steps and traditions better than anyone I ever met. He would take me to task many times regarding my (often dubious) reasoning skills. He convinced me that just taking a pen or pencil from work (with deliberate intent) was no accident and that it was less than "rigorously honest".
Fred was a loyal friend who was always there to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. Honesty and loyalty were virtues that Fred practiced and carried with him more than anyone else I've ever known. Loved by many, and missed by every one of us.

This is not the clearest photo that I have of Fred, but it is one which shows him having a wonderful time. I'm certain that all who were there at his birthday celebration in 2014 had a great time as well...

Fred was one of those people who are larger than life. I had just moved to Florida and he made me feel instantly accepted and was a true friend. He was funny, outrageous at times, and deeply kind to all. I always felt he “had my back” if I ever got into trouble. Fred, we love you and know you’re reuniting with many dear friends now.

Fred is one if the founders of our Coffee Crew, which has lasted over 20 years. Others came and went but Fred could always be counted on to be there. He could be generous, funny, compassionate and truthful. It's amazing how many people's lives he's affected in his little ways - an invitation, a suggestion, an observation. You are already missed, dear friend!
