Sending love and my very best to you all, but to Betsy Roberts especially, as you are the one I know and remember from those days in the Skaneateles neighborhood. Louise was definitely not living on Leitch Avenue when we were romping cross lots from Academy Street in the fifties and sixties. But I have clear memories of your mother’s long tenure as choir assistant (I think she taught us girls that ladies sit with their knees together), and Phyllis’s marching team. And then dear Betsy. Hope you are well, and that there are many memories to cherish. What a wonderful legacy is now being spread far and wide by the generations that follow Louise.
With much affection, Ginny

Grandma was not my grandmother by birth but by marriage. She was the most kind and sweet woman and I knew her much longer than I knew any of my grandparents. I got the pleasure of spending a couple of weeks with her at the lake. The girls (her great-granddaughters), Drew, and I spent time talking to her, riding around in a boat, seeing sights, learning the history of the area, and so much more. She even taught the girls how to skip stones. Her mischievous grin and twinkle in her eye always made me smile. I hope she's having a tasty margarita in heaven!! <3

Trying to relate a memory of Aunt Louise makes my mind flit from one gathering to another, as each and every time I was with her we were celebrating! Then it dawned on me, it might have been a special occasion, but the real celebration was BEING TOGETHER, Louise (with her twinkling eyes, quick wit and, memories that included myself and our family) had that special talent of making you feel like you were the only one in the room.
I was so glad to be at her 100th birthday celebration. Gail had invited all the cousins, so it was quite a reunion. Jack and I walked in to a room buzzing with activity. I approached Louise a bit cautiously and said “Happy Birthday, Louise, it’s Jackie” her response was “I know who you are, where’s Jack? David said he was taking me to lunch, do you know when we will eat, I’m starving!”
Though she will be missed, she loved well and was loved by all who were fortunate enough to spend time with her.

The one memory that always comes to my mind about my Aunt Louise is: the first time I spent the night at their house to spend a few days with my cousin Dave this always comes to mind. We were probably 10 or 12 years old and just got in our bunk beds when Aunt Louise comes in and kisses Dave then kisses me good night. After she walked out, I said to Dave “why did she do that”? I had never experienced that before that I could remember. I remember her as a loving wonderful Aunt and always thought the world of her.
