Bob and I were the same age. Our fathers, Armin and Art, were the two oldest brothers of the Lartz family. Since my father died when I was a four-year old toddler and my brother was seven years old, we drifted apart from the Lartz family. My mother remarried Jerry Honquest, so my brother and I were adopted into the Honquest family, with two half-brothers following, Jim and Bill. I remember boasting about having three sets of grandparents as a child. However, raising my own family came after those grandparents passed. About a decade ago, my brother Dick encouraged me to contact Bob Lartz in St. Petersburg, Florida. After some search, I found his name and phone number. To my surprise, Bob answered the call and we connected like time was no problem. The Lartz family was my original family, with good memories and ties, and connecting with Bob made me feel so empowered to remember them again. We connected with love, humor and reunions that meant so much to me after all these years. Bob shared the ancestry books with me that his sister Yvonne "Bonnie" composed before she passed away. They were written with the same love and humor of the Lartz family memories. His son Brian has been a steadfast companion to Bob for many years. May his soul rest in peace in a place of perfect love and contentment that he brought to so many of us.

Sending love and strength in this difficult time. We have such happy memories of our time with Ranger Bob, Karen and Brian. He will be missed. We had the special pleasure of visiting Bob and Karen when they rangered Ft. DeSoto-such happy memories and most cherished is the parenting advise they gave us. Our sons are as amazing as their son.

It was a pleasure to know and work with Ranger Bob. He was professional, hard working and certainly had the most delightful sense of humor. I was also a Park Ranger and Naturalist for Pinellas County. When I saw that picture of him in the obits it made me laugh. Well done. He will me missed and there will be many great memories of him.

I was heartbroken to hear of Ranger's passing. I miss him already. His personality was infectious with vitality, humor and a joy of living ! We shared many hours over the years sharing stories at Cody's Roadhouse. He was part of a group of "gamers" that enjoyed playing a trivia game together. He was so loved by all !! We both shared a love of cruising and he would tell me of all his adventures at sea and ports of call - many with his beloved wife before her death, his devoted son Brian and recently with his loving girlfriend Evelyn. I am sharing the last photo I took of him in March that captures his spirit to me.
My deepest condolences, Anne Pizurie

Bob was an important part of the beginning of my new life. He was there when I met my wife 28 years ago in Cozumel Mexico, where we now live . We lost touch for a long time (too long) but we found each other again last year through Brians efforts. Reconnecting and seeing Bob last year is that much more important now that he is gone. I got to see him twice last year in Cozumel, once with Brian and once with Evelyn. We feel so fortunate that we got to see and spend time with him again before his passing. We will always remember his voice and his laugh. For a big man he was soft, gentle and kind. Our lives were enriched by his presence no matter how few in number those days actually were. We will cherish the photos that he brought to us last year
