Obituary of Mary Lou Millard

Millard, Mary Louise “Mary Lou”, 97 of ST Petersburg passed away August 25, 2021 at Suncoast Hospice. Born in Canfield Ohio she moved to St Petersburg Florida with her husband and children in 1955. She was proceeded in death by her parents Martin and Marie Matteson, eight siblings, her husband Joseph Millard III and her son Joseph Millard IV. Mary Lou is survived by her daughter Terry Cooper, daughter Lou Ann Lovell, son Daniel Millard, brother Robert Matteson, ten grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Mary Lou was a devout Christian and a founding member of Lake Maggiore Baptist church. She organized and ran the clothes closet at Fifth Avenue Baptist church for those in need. She went back to work in her 70’s and loved managing a children’s clothing boutique, “Just Kids” on St Pete Beach. She left “Just Kids” when she was needed at home and became a devoted caretaker for her husband, Joe in his fight with Alzheimer’s. Her beautiful smile and positive attitude will be remembered by all who knew her. Due to the pandemic Mary Lou’s memorial will be a small private ceremony with only family in attendance.
