He was a WWII Veteran stationed on a refueling tanker as a Diesel Mechanic in the South Pacific in 1944. Randy (as he liked to be called) was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in September 1947 and served as an elder with the Disston Heights Congregation in Kenneth City, Florida.

Randy and Ebbie moved to St Petersburg in 1958 and he began working for the Tampa Tribune as a typesetter for advertisements. He worked with the Tampa Tribune until his retirement in 1997.

They loved to travel and when they both retired bought an RV and traveled the US together with their friends and family.

He also  loved to fish and fix anything that was (or was not) broken. He had the nickname “Tim the Tool Man” because he loved tools of any and every sort.
