Obituary of Joan E Markovich

Joan E. Markovich, 83, of Seminole, FL passed away on January 29, 2022. Born in Reading, PA to the late Anthony and Frances Brown on March 24, 1938. In 1959, Joan married the love of her life, Carl Markovich and shortly after, they moved to Florida.

Joan loved spending time painting ceramics, playing bingo, being surrounded by family playing games, indulging in all night marathons playing Super Mario Brothers, and spending quiet time reading romance novels. She kept an immaculate home while being an avid viewer (and buyer) of QVC. Joan and Carl spent their time going on vacations to Disney and the Great Smokey Mountains, making crafts and attending craft shows and markets. Joan worked at Sunshine Bowling Alley and she and Carl enjoyed bowling in family leagues.

In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Carl; brother, Tony “Butch” Brown and her precious dog, Chamois. She is survived by her daughters, Kathy (Joe) Curley and Susan (James) Phibbs; grandchildren, Nick (Ashley) Curley, Christina Curley, Jenivieve (Landon) Mediavilla, Holly Phibbs, Brittney Phibbs, Jessica Curley and Tyler Phibbs; great-grandchild, Natalie Curley and a sister, Karen Wachtel.
