Obituary of Justin Lee Carpenter

Justin Lee Carpenter (37) of St Petersburg Florida passed away unexpectedly on March 23rd 2022.

Justin was born March 17th 1985 to Talona (Schultz) and Martin Carpenter in Dallas Texas. He was raised in Grand Rapids Michigan graduating from Wyoming Park High School before attending Western Michigan University and Davenport University where he graduated in 2009.

Justin relocated to St. Petersburg Florida in 2016 and recently married the love of his life Brittany Foster in October of 2020. He worked for Maverick Builders Association of Central Florida and was recently promoted to Regional Sales Manager.

Simply put, Justin loved life and had an infectious smile. He loved sports, boating, fishing, hunting, home remodeling, photography and most of all spending time with family and friends. His passion for sun rises, sunsets and dolphins is well documented in his photography and videos. Justin never met a stranger and was a good and caring friend to many. He leaves behind a legacy of what a good friend should be, in fact he redefined the definition of friend.

He was a wonderful son, husband, brother, grandson, uncle and nephew and has left an enormous void in the family he leaves behind.

Surviving are wife Brittany (Foster) Carpenter of St. Petersburg Florida, mother Talona Schultz (Stanley) of Ceresco Michigan, father Martin Carpenter (Katie) of Lowell Michigan, brothers Catlin Carpenter (Sierra) of St. Petersburg Florida, Rocky Schultz (Meagan) of Ceresco Michigan, Brandon Schultz (Amanda) of Battle Creek Michigan, sisters Brittany Burke (Justin) of Ceresco Michigan, Kennedy Brown (Kaeleb) of Lowell Michigan, Sydney Dodde of Lowell Michigan, grandmother Julia Rothwell of Battle Creek Michigan, grandfather Steven Arney of Battle Creek Michigan, aunts Trina Arney of Battle Creek Michigan, Tani Wiltse (Chris) of Battle Creek Michigan, Tiffany Gill of Battle Creek Michigan, one niece and three nephews. Also God parents Pete and Allison Trumbull.

Justin was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Arthur and Elma Carpenter, uncle Dean Carpenter and beloved dog Pepper.

Service will be held Wednesday April 6th at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 2510 Richmond St SW, Grand Rapids Michigan at 11am. There will be a celebration of life following the service at The Goei Center, 818 Butterworth St SW, Grand Rapids Michigan following internment.
