Dolly grew up around the DeFuniak Springs, FL area. She married John Dean Jr, and resided in several cities, some were National City, CA; Hialeah, Fl; Cocoa Beach, FL; and DeFuniak Springs, FL. Three children were born along the way, and they finally settled in her present home in St. Petersburg in 1960.

Dolly was raised in the church and raised her family in the church. Dolly loved being a mom/homemaker. She took swim lessons with her children at spa beach. She was a room-mom for all three children. She attended baseball games for Stanley and softball games for Debbie. She volunteered for Girl Scouts with Becky and Debbie on camping and various field trips and helped sell boxes of cookies. She attended school functions, such as many band concerts, the downtown band parades and competitions, she helped sell chocolate candy bars and fertilizer to fund new band uniforms and two trips to the Bahamas. Dolly had fun participating on the Yellow Pages bowling league and won several awards and trophies. She lunched with the Red Hat Society of IRB on several occasions.

Some of her pastimes were dancing at Joyland. She loved to bake cakes/cupcakes, read, sew, cook, and knit. In her younger years she was always up for camping/fishing trips with family/friends. She would be laughing while -people watching- anywhere, anytime.

Dolly attended Darlington School to 10th grade and received her GED certificate in St. Petersburg FL. With all her children in school, she went to work for Concept, printing penlight sleeves. She was a caregiver for her Mom and Mom-in-law, and eventually two elderly friends. After their passing, she completed her CNA course, and started working for Neighborly Senior Services, including private duty. She worked retail for Eckerds Drugstore. After passing the Florida Real Estate exam, she got her license, and began working at Dennis Thompson Real Estate. She enjoyed working for the home buyers/sellers, especially to find their perfect home.

Mom was a Mom to all. She really loved animals, and rarely a stray cat she would not welcome into her home.

Mom, we love you and miss you.
