Obituary of Laurel Mary Johnson

Laurel Mary Johnson, 90, of St. Petersburg, Florida passed away June 5, 2022 at Sabel Palms of Largo. She was born in Peoria, IL. She graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Speech Pathology. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Lee Johnson, parents; Milton and Viola Rich, sister, Wanda Lubduska, and grandson, Travis Johnson. She is survived by her children; Jim Johnson, Susan Ossenmacher, Cindy (Jeff) Lukken. Grandchildren; Mollie (Brett) Miller, Laurel Meghan (James) Birch, Jeffrey Lukken, Katie (Patrick) Eckelbarger, Bradley Ossenmacher, Wesley (Susan) Johnson. Great-grandchildren; James, Cindy, Mollie, Ruthie Birch, Wyatt Sutton, Asher Miller, Skip Eckelbarger. Laurel loved her family, music, and animals. Laurel loved playing grand piano for the residents at Regal Palms and even during COVID she continued to play from her room so they could walk by and listen. She had a sweet nature and wonderful sense of humor. Laurel was a writer. She created comics for her grandchildren, and wrote short stories for the residents of Regal Palms. Her quick wit, sweet smile, and gentle spirit will be missed by all that knew her.  

There will be a private family gathering at Anderson-McQueen Funeral Home.
