Obituary of Keith M Glasscock

Keith Glasscock, 63, of St. Petersburg, FL passed away on Dec. 4, 2022 at St. Anthony’s Hospital after a sudden illness. He was born in Bonne Terre, MO and spent his childhood years in Memphis, TN and St. Petersburg, FL. He graduated high school from Northeast High, St. Petersburg and received a bachelor’s degree in finance from Florida State University. Keith held leadership roles in the mutual fund industry, print mail operations, and pharmacy benefit management. His career tenure took him to Boston, MA; Omaha, NE, Dublin Ireland and Kansas City, MO. He took early retirement and moved back to St. Petersburg to be near family in 2018.

Keith always had a spirit of adventure. He loved fishing, kayaking and most of all sailing where he recently was back on the water of Tampa Bay as a member with the St. Petersburg Sailing Center where he learned to sail as a child. He was an avid camper and “Airstreamer” and was most happy when on the road exploring the country with his wife Jonna and their two dogs Max and Phil, visiting friends/family along the way and hiking the mountain ranges of Wyoming.

He was a dedicated volunteer with the community garden located at Allendale United Methodist Church where he was a member and liturgist. He served weekly at the St. Pete Free Clinic food pantry. He was also instrumental in planting hundreds of indigenous Slash Pines at Fort Desoto Park as part of the county project to preserve the park. Keith served as president of his condo co-op board at Suncoast Towers in St. Petersburg.

Keith was a beautiful soul who embraced life and was kind to all and was always willing to help and support people in times of need. He loved to tell stories with his wit and share in conversation! He was a man of faith who led a life with a high standard of integrity and honesty. He was a respected mentor to so many in both his professional and personal life.

He deeply loved his children and grandchildren unconditionally. He was a rock of support and always took time to listen and spend quality time with them. One of his recent joys was the birth of his grandson Isaac. Keith was a wonderful, affectionate and loving husband who strongly believed life was short and to seize the day together...every day.

He was proceeded in death by his loving grandmothers, Nanny Eve Glasscock and Nanny Aud Wilson, his parents, Jack and Mary Glasscock, and spouse Jacqueline Glasscock. Keith is survived by his wife Jonna Hunt of St. Petersburg, FL; brother John Glasscock (Linda Cooper) of Pinellas Park, FL; children Nicole DuBuque (Adam) of Brooksville, FL; Shanna Harvey of Greensboro, NC; Brandon Glasscock of Tallmedge, OH; Katheryn Sharp (Steve) of Palm Bay, FL; stepdaughters Angelea Orwig of Brooksville, FL and Whitney Loryn McQuillan (Tyler) of Corbin, KY.
