Florence Campos

Obituary of Florence Marie Campos

Florence Marie Campos of St. Petersburg, Florida passed away quietly on the morning of May 20th, 2023 engulfed by the love of her two daughters. Flo was born on July 15, 1936 in Fall River Massachusetts to the late Helena and Eugene Perry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Almeida Campos, her brother, Armand Perry, sister Lillian Roderigues (Joseph), sister Helen Garcia (Sammy), and nephew, John Garcia. Flo is survived by her daughter, Jodi Loney (Thomas), daughter, Heidi Sutton (David), and her ultimate pride and joy – her three grandsons, Daniel Edward Loney, Jacob Campos Loney, and Benjamin Josef Sutton. She was also deeply loved by her nieces, nephews, and their families. Flo and Ed relocated to Florida in 1964 where they started their life together in the house they built in Seminole. Flo stayed in that house until 2021. She worked at Seminole Elementary as a teacher’s aide and office assistant for more than 25 years. She loved her school family and was incredibly dedicated to her work right up until she retired in 1998. On May 29, 1989, Flo embarked on a new spiritual journey that would not only save her life, but would change the trajectory of her life and the lives of SO many forever! Throughout her 33 years working her program, she was a beacon of hope and an inspiration to so so many. Her legacy will live on for many years through the many friendships she made within those walls at the Log Cabin and elsewhere. As a mother, she taught many lessons, but the most important was that it’s ok to make mistakes – even big ones. As long as you right those wrongs then all will be forgiven by God and those that love you unconditionally. As a Vovo, she taught her grandsons that we are all unique and have special gifts to offer in this life and that as long as you are true to yourself you will do amazing things. As a friend, she taught so many people how to love and forgive others and themselves. She exemplified hope, inspiration, and gratitude. Florence Marie Campos was truly a gift from God and a mighty force to be reckoned with. She was loved by so many and will be dearly missed. She will forever be in our hearts and always be our beautiful Angel!
