Obituary of Parbati Sharma Sukhu

Parbati Sharma Sukhu better known as Rani, passed away on May 29, 2023 at Suncoast Hospice in St Petersburg, FL. Rani was born on November 25,1940 in Campbellville, Georgetown, Guyana. She was brought into the world by Pundit Ghajhadar Sukul and Lily Gir Sukul. Rani had 1 sister, 2 brothers, and 1 sister surviving.

At the young age of 16, Rani married Ramkrisnand Sharma. They shared 52 beautiful years of marriage together. She leaves behind her 5 children, Roopdai(Dolly) Sharma, Chunilall(Bob) Sharma, Janki(Jas)Ram, Shoba Jagernauth, and Ramanand S. Ramkrisnand. Others she called son or daughter include Poonsammy Narayanan, Anita Sharma, Peter Ram, Prem Jagernauth, and Elsa Wehrenberg. She is loved by 10 grandchildren, 5 grandchildren in laws, and 4 great grandchildren.

Rani lived in St. Petersburg, FL since 1987 where her 5 children relocated nearby and grew their own families, which was something she always prayed for. She worked at Abbey Rehab and Nursing Center and volunteered at Northside Hospital Heart Institute. She also worked for private elderly home care. She spent her life always caring for others.

Rani, above all, was a woman of devotion. Everything she did and everything she was came from her love for God and her family. She passed that love on to her children and her grandchildren. Rani loved to sing. Her song and melody poured straight from her heart. Rani can be described as smart, hard-working, and funny. She was a very strong woman who overcame many hardships and always spoke her truth. Her endless love and nurturing spirit impacted many lives who will always love and remember her. Rani’s cremation service was held on Tuesday, June 7th at Anderson Mcqueen Funeral Home.
