Obituary of Lanny Ross Dacus

Lanny Ross Dacus
7/9/40 - 6/17/23

Lanny was born in St Louis, Missouri to Alvin and Nora (May) Dacus. He graduated from the University of Missouri, Columbia and found his niche with Enterprise Rent-A-Car.

During his 26 years with Enterprise Lanny was known throughout the company.  His personality was bigger than life.  He opened new markets throughout south Florida and started the “Pick up and Delivery” service that Enterprise is known for.  When he retired he was the President/General Manager of the New York Group.

Lanny and his wife Ellen (Schrier) Dacus moved to St Petersburg, Florida in 2008 where Lanny enjoyed Golfing, The Arts, eating out, traveling and being with friends.

Lanny sadly leaves behind: his loving Wife of 26 years: Ellen; Son: Matthew Dacus (Heidi) of Delray Beach, Fl; Daughter: Robin Teel (Steve) of Wyckoff, NJ; Step Son: Michael Middleton of New York City, NY; Grandsons: Ross and Gavin Dacus and Payne and Maxwell Teel; and Brother in Laws, cousins and many friends

Lanny was one of a kind, he loved life. He never complained, was extremely generous and everyday was the best he had ever had.  He will be greatly missed.  Rest in Peace
