Obituary of Doris Ruth Maxwell

Doris Ruth Maxwell, 95, of St. Petersburg passed away June 21st, 2023. Doris was born to the late Leon and Annabelle McTeer on January 14th, 1928, in Beaufort South Carolina. She moved to Florida in 1934 and graduated from Winter Haven High School in 1946. She met and married her husband Lynn Eugene Maxwell in 1951. Doris had a lengthy career as an administrator at Alpine Nursing Home and retired in 1994. She loved sports but was in love with tennis and would rarely miss a tennis match if it was on TV. Both Doris & Lynn had a passion for traveling and pretty much traveled the entire globe. She had many talents but was most famous for her macaroni and cheese. If you ever had it, you know what I mean. 
Additionally, to her parents, Doris is preceded in death by her husband Lynn, son Lynn II “Gene”, brothers Ted and Bobby, and sisters Eleanor, Arlene, and Shirley. She is survived by her daughter Cynthia Cardwell, and son Greg (Kelli) Maxwell, sister Merle Jones, brothers Hinson, Everett, and Fred McTeer, grandsons Charlie (Kristen) Cardwell, Lynn III “Geno”, Travis (Danielle), Derek (Kathleen) and Bret Maxwell; granddaughters Sara Cardwell Gunn, Tara (Chris) Thomas, Jenna (Brian) Campbell, and Alexis Maxwell; and great-grandchildren Destiny & Jessie Gunn, Christopher Thomas Jr, Anderson Cardwell, Blake & Julia Campbell, Mackenzie & Mia Maxwell, and last but not least, Mason Maxwell. 
A viewing will be held on Saturday July 1st, 2023, at 10am with a funeral service at 11am at Anderson McQueen Funeral Home 2201 Dr. MLK Street N, St. Petersburg, FL 33704 followed by her burial at Sunnyside Cemetery.
