Obituary of Timothy Clifford Hewitt

Timothy Clifford Hewitt, 54, of St. Petersburg, FL, met his Lord, Sunday, July 9, 2023, in St. Petersburg, FL. Tim graduated from St. Jude’s Catholic School and St. Petersburg Catholic High School, where he served as student government president. In high school, he also participated in football, soccer and track. He attended Troy State University in Alabama where he was T-Roy the school’s Trojan’s Mascot. He graduated from Pinellas County Culinary Institute and served as an executive chef at various noted restaurants, including Raymonds, The Swan, St. Petersburg Yacht Club, and Marriot International. At a young age Tim showed a deep affinity for our Lord. He served as an altar boy in his youth, found passions in religious teachings in high school and continued serving our Lord in leadership of many Cursillo weekends. He facilitated and served onsite at many international mission trips including to Zimbabwe, Israel, Peru, Mexico and Puerto Rico. Tim took the role of Associate Pastor of Calvary Chapel of Pinellas Park and eventually was called to pastor his own church, Calvary Chapel Pasco County. Tim became active and involved in various missions at Faith Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Brooksville, FL. A dedicated member, Tim attended services there most Wednesdays and Sundays and served on a host of committees and various other roles. In the late 80’s, Tim became a realtor and a mortgage broker for various banking institutions including Wachovia bank. After the mortgage crisis, he became a certified instructor and driver for Prime, Inc. trucking where he had the joy of visiting 49 of our 50 states. After his father’s passing, Tim joined his mother in real estate, for over 8 years, where they became known as “The Hewitts”, representing both RE/MAX Metro and RE/MAX Action First. Tim’s passions included teaching the bible to his two wonderful children and anyone else he felt called to minister to (and there were so many). He was an avid baseball fan, devoted to the Tampa Bay Rays, where he proudly had a season membership for several years. He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford Hewitt, and sister, Dawn Hewitt. He is survived by his mother, Kathy Hewitt, two loving children, Tim Hewitt and Madeleine Edwards (Jabe, son-in-law), and his beloved Shannon Deeb. A celebration of Tim’s life will be held at 6:30pm on Friday, July 21, 2023 at the Bayou Club, 7979 Bayou Club Blvd, Largo, FL 33777. A reception will follow on site.
