Obituary of Joseph Ey Tai

Joseph Ey Tai, 85, of Clearwater passed away on July 17, 2023, at home surrounded by family.  He was born on June 7, 1938 in Paksan Laos.

Joseph Ey is survived by his wife, Khamtan, of 55 years; his 7 children, 13 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and 7 siblings.

Joseph Ey was a Major in the Laotian Army and survived the Communist concentration camp for over 10 years. He brought his family to the United States in 1989. He received his associate degree and worked as a teacher assistant at PTEC for 10 years and retired at the age of 63.

Joseph Ey was a true fighter, not just in the army, but also in life. He loved traveling, particularly, via airplanes. He also enjoyed helping the Laotian community, especially with income tax preparation.

Joseph’s funeral service will be Saturday, July 22, 2023 1pm at Anderson McQueen Funeral Homes located at 7820 38th Ave N, St. Petersburg, FL 33710. Burial will follow the funeral service at Calvary Catholic Cemetery located at 5233 118th Ave N, Clearwater, FL 33760.
