Obituary of Dorothy Marie Kempton

Dorothy Marie Kempton “Dottie” 94 of St Petersburg Florida passed away July 15th 2023 at Northside Hospital. She was preceded in death by her mom and dad, Michael and Mary Depietro and late husband, John Kempton. Dottie is survived by her 3 sons, John Joseph, Robert and Christopher, grandchildren, Elliott and Leah and great grandchildren, Hadley, Hudson and Carter Cash.

Dottie moved to St Petersburg from Floral Park, New York in 1949 with her mom. She started working for a Jack Meyer Modeling Agency in the early 1950s.  She later started working for Holy Family Catholic Church as a secretary for 13yrs. She was active member in St Pete Little Theatre in the 1950s, Beta Sigma PHI Sororiety in the 1960s and Holy Family Womens Guild 1980s. She then also volunteered at Bayfront Medical Center in the Nursery as a nanny and also took care of babies at home for a short time. She went on to volunteer at for The Hospice of The Florida Suncoast since 2001. Dottie loved spending time with her family and raising her boys, dancing the night away at The Coliseum, playing cards, cooking and traveling.

A Memorial Service Mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 11am.  Inurnment will follow services at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.  Arrangements entrusted to Anderson McQueen Family Tribute Center, Tyrone Chapel. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The Hospice of The Florida Suncoast.
