Obituary of Arlene Esther James

On August 2, 2023, Arlene James passed away at the age 79 after a fight with cancer. Arlene was the biological mother of two children. However, many people considered Arlene their surrogate mother.

Arlene was born in Troy, Ohio on July 5, 1944. Her parents were Dallas Stephens and Esther Becker. She spent most of her youth in Cincinnati, but moved to St. Petersburg in the late 1960s after her father fell ill.

Arlene loved to travel. She visited all but three of the fifty states. She was able to backpack through Europe with her son and take a cruise to Alaska with her daughter and friends.

Arlene is survived by her daughter Tia James and her son Daryl James. She was predeceased by her husband David. A Celibration of Life will be held on Wednesday August 16, 2023 from 4:00pm at Trinity Lutheran Church located at 401 5th St N, St. Petersburg, FL 33701. Black attire is not required.
