Obituary of Glenda Lurene Hartwig

Glenda Lurene Upchurch Allee Hartwig, 81 years of age, of St Petersburg Florida, passed away on August 10, 2023, after an extended illness. 

Glenda was born on June 9, 1942, to Wilson and Mozelle Upchurch in Waxahachie, Texas. After Glenda graduated from DeQuincy High School, DeQuincy, Louisiana in 1960, she went on to study missions at Baptist Bible College in Springfield Missouri. 

Glenda met Robert Eugene Allee at Baptist Bible College. They were married March 4, 1963. After his graduation, Bob and Glenda started their ministry as pastor and wife in Greensburg Indiana. Glenda and Bob went on to have two children, Richard and Rebekah. They spent their married years in ministry serving as the Lord led. Bob passed away in 1988 after 25 years of marriage. 

In February 1990, Glenda met William Fred Hartwig. They were married July 14, 1990. They spent many years as servants of the Lord in a plethora of ministries including school administrators, director of missions, which included many missions' trips taking photos for various missionaries, directors of senior ministries, and various other positions. 

In 2017, Bill and Glenda moved to St Petersburg Florida where they became members of Liberty Baptist Church. 

Glenda was predeceased by husband, Robert Allee, parents, Wilson and Mozelle Upchurch, and brother, Gary. She is survived by husband, William Hartwig, sister, Debbie Harris (David), children Richard Allee (Kim), Rebekah Potts (Jeff), and stepchildren Benji Davis (Gary), Billie Collins (Rick), Nola Overholt (Steve), Michael Hartwig (LeeAnn), Annette Graham (Alan), Robert Hartwig (Barbara), 14 grandchildren and 3 0 great grandchildren. 

Services will be held at Liberty Baptist Church, 9401 4th St N, St Petersburg, FL 33702 on August 19, 2023, at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the missions' program of Liberty Baptist Church to which she was committed.
