Obituary of Merrilee Miller

Merrilee MacArthur Miller, of St Petersburg, FL, passed peacefully on August 19, 2023 at the age of 75 with her loved ones beside her. She is survived by her fiancé, Dean Sabatini, her sons Brett (Stephanie), Bart (Lisa), her sister, Pam MacArthur (Marilyn Nelsen), grandchildren Alexandra, Cameron, & Nathaniel, sister-in-law, Dina MacArthur, numerous nieces and nephews, lots of friends, and her fur babies Cheyenne & Fred. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee & Jean MacArthur, brother, Col. William MacArthur & his wife Peggi, and her former husband Duke Miller. 

Merrilee was born in Wauwatosa, WI but moved to St. Petersburg, Florida with her husband in 1971 where she worked with special needs children. She then dedicated her selfless heart to being a loving and caring mother raising her two sons. Merrilee was an avid tennis player and golfer, making wonderful friendships through the years at the Racquet Club of St. Peterburg, Bardmoor Golf & Tennis Club, St. Petersburg CC and Feather Sound CC. She was also an entrepreneur selling bows and hair accessories all over the Tampa Bay area to various boutiques, schools and kids’ teams. 

Merrilee never met a stranger and was always able to see the bright side of life. Her laugh, warmth, generosity, and fun personality will always be remembered and missed by her family and friends. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at Anderson-McQueen Northeast Chapel, 2201 Dr. MLK St. N, St. Petersburg, FL 33704.
