Obituary of Ethel Caroline Aldrich

Ethel Caroline Aldrich, 86, of St Petersburg, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. 

Born July 7, 1937 in Stewartstown, New Hampshire, she was one of four children born to the late Carroll E and Caroline A (Dorman) Crawford.  She graduated from Pittsburg High School in New Hampshire, class of 1955 and went on to graduate Plymouth Teachers College (currently known as Plymouth State University) in 1959 with a Bachelors in Education.  She taught for two years in New Hampshire and two years teaching at Bear Creek Elementary School in St Petersburg, Florida.  Ethel married her sweetheart, William Aldrich, in June of 1965 and devoted her life to her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Being an excellent cook and baker, the family enjoyed many dinners, desserts and many holidays together. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed traveling around the world. 

Along with her parents, she was preceeded in death by two of her sisters, Nettie Brooks and Nancy Leigh and a grandson, Benjamin Joseph Aldrich.  

She will be remembered and missed by her husband of 58 years, William "Bill' Aldrich; her children, William (Gedety) Aldrich and their children, Will and Marcus; Brian (April) Aldrich and their children, Andrea, Brian, Brandon, Alyssa, Benjamin Joseph and Gio; her great grandchildren, Carter, Ashlyn and Ember; and her sister, Linda (Mel) French and many nieces and nephews. 

Family and friends will gather Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at Anderson McQueen Family Tribute Center, 2201 Dr. MLK Street N. for visitation from 10am until time of service at 11am. Interment will follow services at Sarasota National Cemetery.
