Obituary of Lamphone Khamphanh

Lamphone "Pon" Khamphanh, age 62, of St. Petersburg, passed away on September 2, 2023. Born and raised in the beautiful city of Vientiane, Laos, she embarked on a life-changing journey to the United States in 1983. 

She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, aunt, sister, and friend. Pon was the eldest among ten siblings and fulfilled the role of a loving caretaker which extended beyond her immediate family. She hosted the best parties with the best food. Anyone who attended would never leave thirsty or hungry. She always made sure everyone was comfortable and was having a good time. If you needed to find her, you could always find her in her kitchen where she spent most of her days doing what she loved.

Pon is preceded in death by her parents, Seune Khounekot and Chanthachone Keosamuntha.  Pon is survived by her devoted husband, Thokham Khamphanh, and cherished daughters, Samone, Bebie, and Annie. Her legacy lives on through her adoring grandchildren: Destiny, Dylan, Desirae, Alex, Olivia, Brooklynne, and the anticipation of a future grandson, Baby Saint.

She personified independence, unwavering diligence, and boundless compassion. Her home was a haven of warmth and acceptance, where she welcomed everyone with open arms. Pon brightened our lives with joy, contagious laughter, and filled our bellies with the best homemade Lao dishes. She relished in the pleasures of dancing, shopping, and pampering herself with facials, massages, and sparkly nails, but above all, her heart swelled with love for her family. Her quick wit, playful sarcasm, infectious laughter, and her immense heart will forever remain etched in the memories of all who were fortunate to know her.  She will always be remembered for her cooking, her big heart, and the way she opened her home to everyone.
