Obituary of Judith Kathryn Scott

Judith Kathryn “Judy” Scott 83, of St Petersburg, Florida, passed away on September 16, 2023.  Judy was born in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Mirk and Frances Ellis.  She attended St. Joseph Academy and the University of Cincinnati where she earned her degree in education.  She was an accomplished pianist and shared her talents during school musicals, weddings, and holiday family sing-a-longs.  She taught Kindergarten to nearly every child in St. Petersburg during her time at Bay Point Elementary and Westminster Day School. 

After retiring from the classroom, she worked for The Juvenile Welfare Board and Coordinated Child Care advocating for children and caregivers.  She is preceded in death by her husband Peter Scott as well as her loving parents Mirk and Fran.  She leaves behind her devoted children Michael (Pamela), Darren (Jennifer) and Stacey (Matthew).  She was affectionately known as Sweetie to her grandchildren Grayson, Ryan, Max, and Lilly who loved her dearly.  They were the light of her life and her pride and joy.  She will be missed by her brother Bob (Mary) and sister Diane (Jim) as well as many nieces and nephews.  She was a member of St Paul’s Catholic Church and will be remembered for the many years she spent in the Country Store during their annual festival.  

Family and friends will gather on Thursday, October 5th at The St. Petersburg Yacht Club, 11 Central Avenue from 5pm to 8pm to remember Judy and all the joy she brought to the world.
